I CLAIM VICTORY
Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 33:1-3 Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. Psalm 95: 1,2 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let

PATIENCE
In addition to more love in the world, I believe we need more patience. So many people seem to hurry and rush where they are going and not be concerned about safety for themselves or others. You're at a traffic light. The light turns green and before you can put your foot on the gas someone is beeping their horn. You stop at a stop sign and look in all directions. Once again, before you can put your foot on the gas someone is beeping their horn. No PATIENCE. I wasn't always a

CISUM
Can you sing? Can you dance? Can you play a musical instrument? Music is an important part of my life. Everyday, I am involved in music; listening, playing, writing, sharing with others. Going back to my childhood; many, many, many, many, many years ago, silly songs and rhymes made us laugh. Some of the songs had movements along with the songs. We made up dances to all kinds of songs, moving to the beat. We did double dutch to music. In college, the same song had numerous ste

RECYCLE AND RESET
When I hear the word, recycle, I think of bottles and cans, blue bins and recycling centers. Today, I'm talking about self recycling. What in my life needs recycling? I am recycling a better balance between work and rest. I am recycling a better balance between saying yes and saying no. I hit the reset button sooner than later. I am making progress. Recycling and resetting are healthy for our heart, mind and soul. R&R #8

REVIEW AND REACH
On social media, today, we are always reading peoples' opinions, both positive and negative. As an individual, I review what's happening in my life and reach my own conclusions. I may ask a friend or two, but the final decision is mine. R&R #6 RETIRE AND RE-TIRE Retire doesn't always mean from a job. It can mean from a relationship, a friendship, a habit, hurt feelings, negative thoughts.

REFUSE TO RETURN
Most of us would probably agree that habits are hard to break. I look at T.V. everyday. One year, I decided to give up T.V. for lent. I thought that I wasn't going to make it. In praying for strength, my reading and piano practice times increased as well as other activities. I still look at T.V., but a lot less. Only occasionally will the T.V. be looking at me. Release And Receive
Free your mind! How do we release the hurt, the hate, the rudeness? It's very challenging. I believe though that when we release these negative situations, we free our mind. Through prayer and processing the situations and not overthinking, we free our mind. We can't control how other people act, but we can control how we act and react. Release and receive peace, relaxation and renewed joy. The person or people may not be a part of your life anymore, but you can go on with you

REDO AND RETOOL
Life happens and we may need to redo and retool. That can be difficult, but necessary. There are stages of life which include life changes. We must redo and retool. As individuals, it's going to be different for each person. Pray and ask God for directions. Guide me God as I redo and retool. Thank you God. Amen. R&R #3

Reflect And Repair
Reflect and repair what needs to be fixed. There's nothing wrong with being comfortable, but we should reflect on our circumstances and strive to be our best self. Just as we look in the mirror to see how we look, we should look inside our inner self to see how we look. Repairs may be needed. Thus, reflect and repair.

REST AND REGROUP
How many times do we work and work and work until we're exhausted and we still keep going? Raise your hand. I raise both my hands. I'm making progress though. I am getting more sleep and ending my day earlier. I'm also working on spending more time with my family and friends in a non-working setting. We're in this world to love and help others. R&R #1

No Bulldozer Needed
Retired Pastor Charles Jenkins and the Chicago Love Fellowship Choir sing a song, My God is Awesome. After singing it, different thoughts came into my spirit. The song begins with - My God is awesome, he can move mountains, keep me in the valley, hide me from the rain. My thought is that God doesn't need a bulldozer to move mountains. He can speak it into existence. God can rain down blessings! Amen. The song refers to healing and strength, salvation, being forgiven and grace.

Have you ever gone shopping without a shopping list? Well, I often do not take a shopping list. Before I leave home, I know I need 5 items, for example. I go in the store. I easily remember 4 items. I stop and say to myself-- what's the 5th item that I need?-- I start reading the aisle signs, hoping that will help me remember. Sometimes I remember, but sometimes I don't. The result is that I buy 6 items. SOMETIMES MY INTELLIGENCE LEAVES EASILY (S.M.I.L.

DO GOOD TO OVERCOME BAD
This thought is great, but hard for many people to do. Of course, there are many people that do good, but unfortunately, there are many people that do bad. Why should we do good? It is the right thing to do. How do we overcome evil with good? It is not easy, but is necessary. More times than not, good produces good. If more people took this approach, the world would surely be a better place. Doing good is a choice. It takes love, goodness, kindness, self control and positive

LIFE THOUGHTS
Everybody likes having a victory. It means you are a winner. Who doesn't like to win? What does it take to be victorious? Some people say that hard work yields success which yields victory. Others say that victory is a result of who you know. Still other people say hard work and who you know lead to victory. There's not one answer as everybody is different and has had different experiences. My thought is hard work and who you know. I know God. I believe in God and his connect

MUSIC - N - ME
Johann Sebastian Bach composed many piano pieces. I remember playing a lot of his music. It took a lot of practicing as his music has many parts to it. He definitely has his own style with challenging, but enjoyable sounds. In looking for music to play, I analyze the music from beginning to the end to see where the composition starts, where it goes and where it ends. That's how I determine if I want to learn it and what piano techniques I already have and may need to learn. M

MUSIC -N - ME
There are so many kinds and styles of music. I learned to play classical music first. I'm sure that is why when I hear Beethoven piano pieces, I still get excited. I find it very relaxing to listen to his music both piano and symphony selections. In college, I accompanied vocalists and played duets with other musicians as they played their clarinets and flutes and trumpets and horns and strings. If you've never listened to Beethoven or Tchaikovsky or Mozart, relax and listen
